I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress the last few years and have failed to fully acknowledge it until just recently. Todays episode is dedicated to taking care of our bodies enabling us to play this great game as long as possible!
A few months ago it dawned on me that I need to take better care of my body. I was virtually sleep walking through life and lacking any form of serious enjoyment. I realized that I was not being very accountable and actually doing anything about my physical situation.
The moment this happened I decided that I needed to stretch my stress & pain away. Since that time I have seen major improvements in not only my physical health, but my mental health as well. I wasn’t a physco or anything! I was simply being to negative and not thinking positivity. Connecting our minds and bodies into one is something I strongly believe in and since doing my stretches every day, I have been able to get up every morning feeling refreshed and excited!
I’ll discuss what works best for me, why and also some areas of your will see improvement in. Lets wash a way the pain of being a golfer!
These are the stretches and areas they target.
Standing Deep Breathing Pranayama – Great for focusing and breathing
Half Moon Pose – Obliques, shoulders & back
Awkward Pose – ankles, thighs & back
Balancing Stick – Knees
Triangle Pose – chest, shoulders, arms, back & obliques
Wind – Removing Pose – groin & hips
Cobra pose – lower back!
Half Tortoise Pose – elongates (is that a word?) spine after cobra
Head to Knee – calfs, hammies, shins, back & shoulders
Blowing in Firm Pose – legs and knees
